This unit based on leadership, challenging stereotypes, and change-bringers is coming to an end. Students will begin a final project for this unit where they create a PSA encouraging high school students to vote when they come of age. In this unit, we heavily explored voting rights in the United States, especially the women's suffragist movement. Our next unit is "How We Organize Ourselves" and focuses on government. Our lines of inquiry are "why governments are formed?", "what is the role of government in society?", and "what are the rights of people according to their governments". We will be taking a guided tour to city council on March 21st to see the government in action. We will be using "The Hope Chest" as a read aloud book to connect the two units.
