We have written so many types of poems so far. On Monday, 208 had it's first substitute and worked on multiplication fluency as well as writing limericks, cinquaines, and couplets. We have analyzed and studied several great poems such as "The Pasture" and "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost, and "Tiger" by William Blake, and many more. Students are enjoying the freedom of expression found in Poetry Writing.
We are also using the book "Love That Dog" to document how characters can be dynamic and change opinions over time. The central character is learning about poetry and starting to believe in his ability to be a writer.

I'm so happy you are using poetry. Such a great way to achieve lyrical writing and fluency,
