We are starting the year with a new unit, which focuses on "Who We Are". Our focus is on learning about rights, stereotypes, leadership, and action. The central idea is that the actions of one can lead to change of many. We are looking into what makes someone a leader of change and how leaders impact others.
We are learning it through the history of women's voting rights and are analyzing difficult text with rich historical language. We are reading non-fiction texts and primary sources as we study the Trial of Susan B. Anthony. Students are learning about the qualities that leaders have and are being challenged
